Wichita - St. Patrick
Message from Pastor
Generations have come and gone since the founding of St. Patrick Catholic School in 1910. Often I meet older alumni who recall stories of nuns, packed classrooms, and other fond memories. Today's families are much more diverse in ethnic origin, but their love and commitment to the Catholic Faith remains the same. Most of our parents only have a simple devotional knowledge of the Faith and never had a chance to go to Catholic schools or even attend high school. Their children's faith, however, due to years of Catholic religion classes and a Faith-based environment, is more easily safeguarded against our secular relativistic culture.
The longer I am here, the more I am convinced that our school gives the greatest chance for our kids to acquire and maintain a vibrant faith life. That is priceless to our local community and the Diocese of Wichita! Furthermore, your gift helps us maintain a just salary for our staff and teachers here consistent with Diocesan standards. With increasing understanding and practice of Stewardship as a way-of-life among our families and help from funds like Drexel, Catholic formation still thrives at St. Patrick!
Thank you and bless you!
Fr. Jerome Spexarth
What makes our school special
- As a small school of just over 200 students, we affectionately refer to ourselves as the St. Patrick Catholic School Family.
- Our students are polite, respectful, and hard-working.
- Our faculty and staff are dedicated and persevere in serving students with a variety of basic needs despite lacking some financial, material, and human resources.
What The Drexel Fund means for us
Without the Drexel Fund, we would not be able to afford to pay our hardworking faculty and staff or send students to Catholic High School. Likewise, necessary improvements would not even be possible without this great source of help.
